- This is a project-based course, and requires a friendly, collaborative, and inclusive, environment for everyone (students, professors, and guests) to freely exchange ideas. This requires mutual respect and understanding. However, the course also has lectures and hands-on exercises, which require dedicated time to complete. Open dialogue is encouraged, but may be requested to be subdued in order to progress through classroom material in a timely manner. If at any time you feel excluded or otherwise socially marginalized in the class, please talk to the instructors as soon as possible.
- Email: Be professional and polite. Professors will try to answer all questions and emails in a timely fashion (within 1-2 days). However, under some circumstances, the response time will be longer.
- Classroom behavior: Create a supportive learning environment for everyone. Disruptive behavior is prohibited. "Disrupted behavior" means conduct that materially and substantially interferes with or obstructs the teaching or learning process in the context of a classroom or educational setting. This type of behavior includes cell phone use, refusing to collaborate, interrupting class activities, sleeping, surfing the internet for non-class related material, newspaper reading, etc. In the event of disruptive behavior by students in the course, official policies and procedures will be followed as described at:

Arriving late or missing lectures
- Attendance is mandatory and is reflected in your final grade (15% based on course participation). If you know you will miss class, please contact the professors BEFORE hand.
