Notes

1. General Update (Sheldon)

2. Organization (Sheldon)

ET Meetings: They will be every other week effective today.

Alfresco and Confluence: Static read-only docs will be managed in Alfresco. Any dynamic content, or collaboratively edited will be posted in wiki (Confluence framework). Reasons: 1) Confluence offers fine-grain access control. 2) The Confluence wiki will be around for the life span of this project.

Journal clubs: 1 hour a week, alternating CS and BIO. Article is carefully read, digested, and then explained to the group. Open to ET and all other interested parties. This will start in the Fall.

iPTol Web Presence (Phil): Gives info about the grand challenge team.

URL: Iptol.iplantcollaborative.org

3. Postdoc Update (Karla)

Kate is editing/refining text and should be posted next week.

4. Open Discussion

Substanital benchmarking components that Liya and Scott are doing – there is a formalized process that’s being developed by Karla, Sonya, NIrav, et al that the doc may be finished next week.

UA team: refactoring and retooling how we will work with the grand challenge teams, including making it more publically known what we are doing. We will have a site communicating how we are set up, what we are doing, and a forum to communicate with the working groups. Defining roles will be known so you will know who to go to based on the issue. This should be out in the next couple of weeks.

Sheldon and Edwin/Infrastructure Issues: ET needs to commit work in iPlant SVN repository.
