Taking into account the objectives of our midterm, the scale of our workload, and the number of students in the course, docker is and will be an essential tool for effectively achieving our goals in a timely manner. Docker's container functionality will allow for us to breakup the data into smaller chunks and simultaneously process those data chucks, then preforming necessary functions on the data and assemble the data. Since these processes can be done in multiple containers on distributed systems, our time will be more efficiently utilized. Also, another useful aspect will be the ability to push and pull images. This ability will allow us to share custom configurations of images which we have modified to help us complete tasks in a more structured and organized fashion; a proven method/environment can be exported for the rest of the class to use.
