The current mechanism to import styling information does not allow the automatic mapping of biological information onto the tree. Such a mapping interface should be available through the tree viewer. Programmatically, the API already provides the ability to submit styling information together with the tree, therefore the mapping can be done at the programmatic level as well. For the web access, a rule based mechanism was suggested. Naim and Nicole to collect a list of apps in the DE that produce an output to be mapped on a phylogenetic tree to serve as use cases. Another use case identified is the integration with TNRS.
