DataInt Resources

Objective

JIRA

For small documents, figures, spreadsheets, etc, it is encouraged that developers and ETAs use the file upload feature in JIRA to attach media directly to JIRA tickets.

Subversion

Each working group has a project folder in the Subversion repository, which can be found at svn.iplantcollaborative.org. Within the project/trunk there is a data folder. For example, g2p/dataint/trunk/data which is designated to hold data files, genome annotations, processing scripts, shell scripts, etc. At the head of the data/ directory, please maintain a 00README.txt file which lists all child directories and generally describes their contents.

If you are adding or modifying content in this repo in response to a JIRA ticket, please include the name of the ticket in your commit log. Please link to the appropriate SVN directory when reporting progress on your JIRA ticket.

The current bare-bones SVN web interface will soon be replaced by a browseable, user-friendly system where we will be able to read commit logs and view the directory structure of the repository.

The repository is set up under a dual-permissions model.

iRODs

Some files are entirely too large to manage efficiently by Subversion. They should be deposited in the bitol.iplantcollaborative.org/iplant/collections/g2p_di store. Please use sane, self-describing file and directory names and please consider keeping a logfile of iRODs content in the dataint/trunk/data Subversion repository.
