  • Overview of homework assignments
  • JSON - see MV's slides
  • How the iPlant DE uses JSON to describe tools and analyses - see MV's slides
  • Q&A for Matt/Karla on homework assignments
    • might want to think about analysis that would be useful to construct so that we do have a workable process for people to use if we do get bogged down integrating specific tools?
      • first step is to identify workflows, and then break down into components; hard part is getting software steps up and running; analysis authoring is very easy in iPlant’s DE API; tools are selected for tutorial reasons, primary objective is to act as tutorials for the process
    • experience integrating one tool will carry over to other tools
    • what we’ve been doing is specifying how to call a tool; what was missing was what to do with the output?
      • will need to write a script/wrapper to handle the output from one tool to act as input for another tool
  • Postdoc Research Talk - Christos
